• Learn to play hand drums! A popular drum seen in drum circles, The djembe is actually the drum of the Mandinka people, the name djembe translates to "everyone gather together." • The djembe has a great cultural heritage in Africa. It may have the widest range of tones of all hand drums. Its healing power is complimented by it's power to make people dance. Both it’s healing and dancing powers are admired and practiced by drummers from Africa and around the globe. • Instructor Deja Mktchell lives in Ogden Valley and has been learning from master African drum teachers for many years and loves to help new players get started! No experience is necessary. Real African instruments provided for class. • four sessions: Tuesdays Oct 8, 15, 22, 29 6-7 pm • $100 for the 4 sessions • Held at the ART SPACE in Huntsville 7309 E. 200 S St (Old Town Hall) NOTE: we need 8 students to make this work for everyone.
